Dawn had nearly a decade of working at a high-end residential design firm in the Twin Cities when she left her position as Senior Designer and branched out on her own in 2021. She now calls Longville, MN home, where she can spend time with family and enjoy everything the Northwoods has to offer.

 

Dawn began her career on the playground of elementary school in rural Iowa building floor plans with dried grass clippings so her friends could play house. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration and a degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, she worked in mental health with people with Schizophrenia and Traumatic Brain Injury. After a few years, Dawn realized it wasn't the right fit, and returned to school for Interior Design and graduated with Honors from Century College. She has served on the Board of Directors and Co-Chaired the Membership Committee for the MN Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. She was also Vice-President of her student ASID chapter and developed a quarterly newsletter for student involvement.

Dawn doesn't abide by a "one-size-fits-all" motto. Every project is unique, and every client has different needs. She likes to know how you want your space to function, how you want it to feel, and how you live in your space. Dawn leans on her experience in psychology to understand the needs of her clients. The design process is a personal one of partnership and trust. She combines her clients' unique aesthetic goals with her years of experience with principles of good design, to build a cohesive and beautiful environment to call home.

In her free time you can find Dawn as the DJ at the Turtle Races in Longville every Wednesday afternoon, working with her hands - either building something or planting something - and spending time in nature with her dogs.
